8 Phases of Web Development Process
Though there are different ways to develop a website, depending on your client objectives and requirements, here is the 8 phase approach that we follow at Foliage Technologies. It has proven to be successful for our clients to get their appreciation.
1. Requirement Gathering
Getting the essential information is the first phase. The objective for the website/application. Getting their requirements and asking as many questions as possible to get on the right path.
2. Research & Analysis
From the information you have gathered, do a research. Analyse competitor landscape, target audience, and industry-related trends. Research the design and user experience to be implemented.
3. UX Design Layout
It is better to sketch your ideas than implementing it on the website. That way you can make sure there isn’t a mismatch between the requirement and implementation in the beginning itself. Keep in mind the possibilities in technology while sketching a concept. Once confirmed, implement the design.
4. Development & Revision
At this stage, the website is built. If it is just a website, the design as per client’s requirements is implemented. If a website application with functional elements, all the functionalities are implemented at this stage. Beginning with the home page all the other inner pages are implemented.
Revisions are done as required.
5. SEO Content
Creating SEO content and implementing SEO aspects are integrated with Development phase. Most of them can be done as a separate phase.
For example, using image format that boosts website speed can be done at Development. Other aspects like using the right keywords at the right amount, placing rich media at appropriate places, linking the content to an authority site can be done as a separate phase. All required on-page SEO activities are completed at this stage.
6. Testing
Testing is done for the websites for user experience, functionalities, device compatibility, speed, and performance. Once testing is completed with fixing all the bugs. The website is ready to launch.
7. Launch
A final go-through with the client gets the approval for the launch of the website. The website is deployed and goes live for the users.
8. Maintenance
The web development doesn’t end here. There are changes need to be made based on user experience feedback, real time speed and device compatibility and more other attributes.
To get more potential visitors and repeated visits from audiences is to keep updating the website content. It can set to be done from the customer end too.
